DescriptionEarly moulded Hellenistic radial lamp with rounded double convex body. Light brown ware with traces of red-brown slip. Shoulders decorated with radiating raised ridges with elongated soot-blackened nozzle, also some soot-staining at rear of large, central filling hole. Base ring is raised. Join between upper and lower parts knife-pared crudely. Comparanda: Barag/Hershkovitz 1994:13 #1 - this Masada lamp was made in the Jerusalem area, according to neutron activation tests.
